Is paid social media marketing still a great tool?

A question that we are always asked

Do I pay for SEO, Google adwords, facebook and instagram (meta) or TikTok adverts? So many decisions to make, but which is best for your company?

Well the key is in the avatars that you have created. Where does your target market hang out online? What age group are they? Age largely depends on where people hang out and to an extent, your product too. Gone are the days of searching through the yellow pages to find somebody or something but people now look for recommendations and testimonials. For example, if you are selling holidays, people may turn to Tripadvisor or the likes to check what others say about a hotel or destination.

So the answer is not cut and dry but rather complex. Sit and decide where to go first. If you use social media to sell your service or product and have a special offer or deal that you want to get out quickly or to more people, a paid campaign may be the right decision. You also do not want to offer a service that you cannot deliver in good time due to staff holidays etc or a product that is low in stock or difficult to get hold of.

If you want to raise awareness of your business or website to those who would be searching online and you have competitors, a pay per click or PPC campaign may be just the ticket.

Paid advertising can be very expensive so it is important to know and understand your goal and measure the response to your campaign to ensure that you get the most from it.
